Gas engineer in Canterbury
Gas Safe registered engineers covering Canterbury and the surrounding villages, CT1 through CT4. Domestic boiler work, landlord gas safety certificates and commercial gas for city centre premises.
Domestic and commercial gas work across Canterbury
Canterbury is a mixed patch and the work reflects it. Inside the city walls we are often working in period and listed buildings where flue positioning is constrained by conservation rules and there is no obvious external wall to terminate on. On the newer estates out toward Sturry and Thanington it is more straightforward replacement and upgrade work. Both need the same thing from us, which is a proper survey before a price is given.
Canterbury has an unusually large rented sector because of the student population, and landlord gas safety certificates are a steady part of what we do here. If you let a property you are legally required to have every gas appliance, flue and pipework checked every twelve months by a Gas Safe registered engineer, and to give the tenant the record within 28 days. We have completed over 10,000 services and safety certificates, and for landlords with several properties we can group visits to keep the cost and disruption down.
We also carry out commercial gas work for shops, offices and other premises in the city, including tightness testing and meters from U6 to U125, plus unvented cylinders under G3. Alongside that we do gas inspection and audit work for a local authority, which means our paperwork and standards are audited by someone other than us.
For repairs, we carry the common failure parts on the van, so a good proportion of Canterbury breakdowns are sorted on the first visit rather than waiting on an order. We are not a 24 hour callout service, but breakdowns get priority over routine work during our normal hours.

Canterbury questions
What guarantee do you give on your work?
We guarantee our workmanship for 12 months. On top of that, new boilers carry the manufacturer's warranty, which runs up to 10 years depending on the make and model. As accredited Vaillant and Ideal installers we register it for you on the day of the install, which a non-accredited fitter cannot do.
Which Canterbury postcodes do you cover?
We cover CT1, CT2, CT3 and CT4, which takes in the city centre and the surrounding villages including Sturry, Blean, Harbledown, Chartham and Bridge.
Do you do landlord gas safety certificates for multiple properties?
Yes, and it is a large part of our Canterbury work given how much of the city is rented. If you have several properties we will group the visits where we can, which keeps the cost down and means one set of paperwork lands with you at the same time each year.
Can you fit a boiler in a listed or conservation area property?
Usually, but it needs planning before it needs plumbing. Flue termination is the constraint in most period Canterbury properties, and there are cases where a rear or roof termination is the only compliant option. We survey the property before quoting rather than assuming, and we will tell you if consent is likely to be needed.
Do you cover commercial premises in the city?
Yes. We handle commercial gas for shops, offices and rented portfolios, including tightness testing and meters up to U125. We also carry out gas inspection and audit work for a local authority.
What guarantee do you give on your work?
Twelve months on our workmanship from the date we finish. New boilers also carry the manufacturer's own warranty, up to ten years depending on the model, and we register it for you on the day of the install.
